January is finally over *cheers all round* and I’m glad to announce my new favourites series which comes with videos too! I probably won’t have the opportunity to review all my favourite products in detail, so I figured this is a good way to showcase some of them and share some tips on how I get the best use out of each product.

The Ordinary’s Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalene

Since I turned twenty six, which seems like a lifetime ago, retinol has become a staple product in my night-time routine. It is basically Vitamin A, which targets signs of aging; wrinkles, texture, and uneven skintone. The Ordinary’s Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalene is a less irritating formula, which is best used at night, and I use as the final step in my night-time routine on alternate nights. The result is smooth, glow skin in the morning.

Superdrug Glycolic Acid Daily Cleansing Pads

After trying the Nip + Fab Gylcolic Fix Pads samples I received through the Glamour Beauty Club, I hated that I loved them because they are a little pricey. Luckily, Superdrug’s own brand version comes at a fraction of the price, making it a justifiable treat. They are little pads soaked in a solution containing glycolic acid, which is a chemical exfoliant. I use one or two pads every morning before applying moisturiser.

L’Oreal Pure Clay Glow Scrub

Although I don’t have a staple face wash (I typically use black soap) I have been using the Loreal Glow Scrub consistently and it does a good job of gently exfoliating try face. I wouldn’t say this is particularly special, but it doesn’t contain any foaming ingredients which would otherwise strip my skin dry and that’s probably why I’ve been so drawn to it.

Schwarzkopf got2b Oil-licious Styling Oil

I featured this styling oil in my blog post on how to keep your wig looking great a while back and I’m still very much into it.I wore my wig all through January because the weather has been unbearably cold and the styling oil was a real saviour all throughout.

Aphogee Pro-Vitamin Leave-In Conditioner

My natural hair has been under a wig all of January so, my haircare has been simply oiling my scalp with castor oil and keeping my hair moisturised with a leave-in conditioner. Aphogee’s Leave-In is a liquid spray, which is light and keeps my hair well hydrated.

Loreal Infalliable Total Cover Foundation

Although I don’t need to wear a full coverage foundation every day, I’m a sucker for a beat face and the Total Cover foundation by Loreal gives me perfect coverage and a matte finish. I won’t say too much about this as I have a full review of it here

W7 Banana Dreams Powder

This has to be the best setting powder I have tried so far (and I’ve gone through a lot!). It is one of the few that truly keep me matte and also prevent creasing in my smile lines and under my eyes. It is very similar to the Ben Nye Banana Powder, although it scores more points for being less yellow and more transluscent. I get mine from Savers for £4.99 but, it is also available on the w7 website.

Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipstick (Old Hollywood)

I love deep wine and burgundy colours during the winter months and the Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipstick in Old Hollywood is the perfect shade for my skintone. It’s one of the most long-wearing and transfer-resistant liquid lipsticks I have tried and although it can be a little drying on it’s own, a touch of lip balm before you apply it solves that. My favourite go to balm to prime my lips is the NUXE Reve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm

I’m looking forward to trying some new products in February, especially for my natural hair and also making more videos for that so please let me know if you enjoyed the video and if you have any suggestions!
