As much as we hate feeding into the capitalist machine, we also love a bargain. With Black Friday drawing near (ready your ApplePay) and with some sales already live, I figured it would be a good idea to highlight some discounts to help narrow your search for the best deals
DECIEM is the umbrella company of our favourite brands such as the ever so popular and budget friendly The Ordinary, the bougie NIOD and some others that no-one really raves as much about but are still good. A couple of years ago, I got a NIOD set worth £153, for £60. Not bad considering the 30ml Copper Amino Isolate Serum alone goes for £60. I expect to see similar bundles this year and it’s best to check deciem.com first, and if they sell out you can also check victoriahealth.com
French Pharmacy skincare is my favourite with brands like La Roche Posay, Bioderma, and Avene always in my rotation. escentual.com promise up to 50% off most of their brands, including other brands like, Givenchy, Guerlin and Dior. Look out for the DHC cleansing oil which is usually half price on Black Friday.
Apart from being ridiculously pigmented and easy to blend, Juvia’s Place palettes are cruelty-free and the company is black-owned. They are currently on sale at beautybay.com and are discounted up to 50%.
This is the first year that Morphe will have a UK Black Friday sale and if their US precedent is anything to go by, they will be offering 25% off the entire site. That means everything from brushes to liquid lipstick and of course, their famous 35-pan eyeshadow palettes. However, don’t expect discounts for their collaboration products like Jaclyn Hill and James Charles.
If you like bold colours and super-saturated pigments, you should have a look at what Illamasqua have to offer. I suspect they will have their most popular primers (hydra veil), a few palettes, lots of lashes and blushes on sale.
Anastasia Beverly Hills
The Haul of Fame Collection is a compilation of ABH’s Modern Renaissance, Soft Glam, Subculture, and Prism palettes, excluding the recent ‘Norvina’ and ‘Sultry’ palette. It will be available on the UK and US sites on Black Friday and although there is no UK price on their Instagram page, they are set to go on sale for $90 in the US so expect the collection to be around £90 in the UK too.
If straight hair/straight bundles/straight wigs are your thing, then I highly recommend you invest in GHD styler. I’ve had mine for 10 years now and it still works perfectly. Definitely money well spent and even better at £76.
Spell Beauty sells wigs from brands such as Sensationnel, Big Beautiful Hair, as well as Expression and Marley braiding hair. I’ve ordered braiding hair from they before and can vouch for their excellent service. Although I dislike minimum spend sales, this one is pretty good as will be on all wigs, weaves and braiding hair.
I hope this help you find a Christmas gift for your skincare/makeup-junkie bestie, a low-maintenance synthetic wig for your mama or a little treat for yourself. Have fun and shop responsibly!
